The Great British Bake Off (BBC1, 8pm)

Yaaaasss, it’s Bake Off night again! It’s Dessert Week, and the bakers are challenged to make the perfect creme brulee as well as fancy tiered cheesecakes. Everything that can go wrong will probably go wrong. *rubs hands together* #gbbo

Skyfall (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

The latest Bond film sees the spy pursuing a mysterious criminal who has exposed the identities of MI6 agents around the world. Also featuring Adele somehow rhyming the lyrics “Let the sky fall/watch it crumbALLL”.

Witnesses (Channel 4, 10pm)

The finale of this French police thriller, set in a small town where the bodies of murder victims are being unearthed and left for discovery. Watch the rest of it on 4OD – it’s worth it. #witnesses

The BBC has apologised to The Voice judge and all round legend Tom Jones for firing him out of nowhere. Earlier this month, Jones said he was told “with no consultation of any kind” that he would be replaced on the panel by Boy George.

Now BBC’s director of television Danny Cohen has said he’s “sorry [Tom] is upset”:

I think he’s a gentleman, I think he’s an extraordinary figure in music and you’ll have seen the huge respect that all the artists have had for him on The Voice throughout.
